Equalising benefits for working parents and carers

Working parents and carers at the firm have a unique set of challenges and commitments to balance outside of work – and that this can disproportionately affect women. Support for parents and carers ranges from enhanced maternity, paternity, surrogacy and adoption leave policies, to compassionate leave, support with emergency childcare, and coaching resources and events for working families.

HeforShe

Ensuring that the narrative around gender equality is changed so that men are actively engaged

For too long, gender equality has been viewed as a women’s issue and the pivotal role that men play has been largely overlooked. That’s why Linklaters launched HeforShe at Linklaters to engage men in the challenges and empower them to take action – over 80 men globally made commitments to support gender equality for International Women’s Day 2018.

Greater opportunities

Ensuring women have greater opportunities through the Women’s Partners Programme, Women’s Leadership Programme (WLP), a new coaching programme for associates being rolled out this year, and both Leaders of the Future and Global Talent Programme for business teams.

Public transparency

Public transparency with aspirational gender targets for 30% female representation on boards by 2018 and no less than 30% of new partners.

Having set this target in 2014, currently 42% of the firm’s Executive Committee, 23% of Partnership Board, and 43% of directors and associate directors are women. This year, 37% of Linklaters’ new partners are women.
